5. A year on...

It was one year ago today that I posted my last blog entry - "Would you buy a scarf...?" To date, I have 'sold' exactly one scarf. The nurse at our doctor's office wanted to buy one as a Christmas gift for the PA I go to regularly and, since I like them both a lot, I agreed to this for the cost of the yarn, which was right around $50.

And, since that last post, I have spent hundreds of hours and way too many dollars on weaving. I have taken lessons on-line and in person, expanded the types of looms I weave on and, in December, began teaching at The Rogue Skein in Kerrville.

As I stated in the "Why Weaving?" post, I took up the hobby because I was planning to retire at 65 and I needed something to do. Well, I beat that goal by one year, two months and six days when I retired at the end of July. With more time on my hands I am planning on trying new things and getting deeper into the ones I have started. It will likely include, as it says at the top of the my website home page - "Weaving through Threads, Thoughts and Tangents."

And if you are in the market for a scarf, The Rogue Skein has a couple of mine for sale on their website at prices I am almost embarrassed to say out loud. They are advocates for artists and crafters to get a price that reflects the effort that person put into it.

If you click on the links and they are no longer avaialble, my sales will have grown exponentially!
